A Filipino American was arrested by the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Unit as he allegedly tried to bring a live grenade and a knife through airport security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, Thursday morning. Senior Superintendent Ricardo Layug Jr. identified the suspect as Cipriano de Guzman, 58, a retailer based in Orlando, Florida, USA. De Guzman, a US passport holder of Filipino descent, was bound for the US via Taipei on board a China Airlines flight. He denied ownership of the items, saying that somebody might have placed the banned items inside his bag.
