BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan: The Department of Trade and Industry is confident that the 30 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) exhibitors in this year’s Aklan Product Exposition could reach the target income of P5.6 million from November 17 to 22.
Engr. Diosdado Cadena, DTI-Aklan director, said this year’s target sale is lower compared to last year because of the decrease in the number of participating MSMEs.
Now on its 13th year, this year’s product expo at SM City Iloilo event center, with the theme “Local Materials, Global Quality,” will highlight high quality fashion wearables and housewares made from Aklan’s famous piña and abaca.
The exhibit will also feature Aklan’s export quality meat and bakery goods as well as other tourism-related products and services.
The annual marketing event aims to expand the market reach of Aklan MSMEs to the regional market in Iloilo and its neighboring provinces.
A craft demonstration on Abaca Macrame and Fashion Accessories will also be featured during the expo.
The event is co-organized by Hugod Aklanon Producers Association Inc., and in partnership with the Provincial Government of Aklan.
