Former Gilas Pilipinas team captain Jimmy Alapag attended the FIBA Players’ Commission meeting at the House of Basketball in Switzerland on Thursday.

Alapag was tasked to represent Asian players in the gathering.

In his Instagram post, Alapag said that he is “Honored to represent the Philippines/Asia in the FIBA Players Commission.”

Retired NBA player Vlade Divac of Serbia is the Players’ Commission chairman.

The other members of the commission are Elisabeth Egnell of Sweden, Boniface N’Dong of Senegal, Fabricio Oberto of Argentina, Ilona Korstin of Russia, Adriana Dos Santos of Brazil, Olumide Oyedeji of Nigeria, Katie Smith of United States, Amaya Valdemoro Madariaga of Spain, Hanno Mottola of Finland, Tomas Van den Spiegel of Belgium, Jenni Screen of Australia and Radoslav Nesterovic of Slovenia.

Alapag also extended his apologies to his fans for being absent during the opening ceremonies of the 41st Season of the Philippine Basketball Association on Wednesday.

“My apologies to all the PBA fans since I won’t be a part of the Opening Ceremonies today. Excited to be back as a part of the PBA family!” Alapag said on his post.
