LEGAZPI CITY: Students from public and private schools in Legazpi City thronged Pawa village along with government forces, volunteers, city officials led by Mayor Noel Rosal and people from all walks of life to reforest the denuded area of Barangay Pawa. The village river in which volcanic debris tumbled down during rainy days saw a river of people planting trees on Valentine’s Day. American visitors in Legazpi joined the tree planting. The provincial government of Albay also conducted tree planting at Mayon Rest House to reforest the slopes of Mount Mayon. At least 300 seedlings of mahogany, narra and gemelina and fruit bearing trees were planted at the Mayon Volcano Natural Parkland surrounding the rest house in Barangay Buang, Tabaco City.
