The perfectly titled Coleurs Royale collection by Dubai-based designer Albert Andrada capped this year’s holiday season fashion week with much flair and understated elegance that had earned him the right to be the “designer for royalty.”

Different from a fairy tale, formal wear fashion show, Andrada, together with Runway Productions who created the long-running fashion event in the country, showcased his signature glittery luxewear in the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2014 closing show on May 31 at the of Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center on May 31.

Aside from being an evening show of classic-styled gowns floating on the runway, it was also a time for giving to the less fortunate. Joey Espino, the head honcho of Runway Productions, announced that the show was also in support of the ABS-CBN Foundation Bantay Bata 163 program.

“I am looking forward that fashion will grow stronger and evolve, as we become more confident and believe in our talents. Tonight is also a proof that fashion can serve charitable causes, like how other countries use fashion as a medium to help the less fortunate” Espino said before the show began.

Fashion is not only about looking good and feeling good, but something that would help serve other people. Tonight is the beginning of that [in the country],” the Philippine Fashion Week creator added.

Jodilly Pendre, first runner up of the Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle, opened the show in a striking red cloak, before dramatically revealing a white sheath dress covered with silver embellishment and feathered skirting.

True to his class, Andrada showcased a formal dress collection with toned royal colors of emerald and purple splashed with taints of magnetic gold. Andrada’s laser cut designs topped in skin tone and white chiffon layers were also a sight to behold.

Gina Lopez, the managing director of the ABS-CBN Foundation, led a group of Andrada’s muses who graced in Andrada’s gold embellished dresses.

Another dramatic conclusion for the Philippine Fashion Week, and a testament that Filipinos are forward-looking, and also selfless, when it comes to being a leader in the fashion industry.
