After a successful back-to-back 10th anniversary celebration of GMA Pinoy TV in Kapusong Pinoy Vancouver and Anaheim, network talent Alden Richards headed over to the United States to take part in fun-filled Philippine Independence Day events in California and Washington.
Alden, who portrayed the role of Jose Rizal in the Philippines’ first ever bayaniserye Ilustrado, said he was so excited to be join his “kababayans” in the US.
“I was very excited to re-unite with our kababayans abroad and celebrate such an important milestone in Philippine history with them,” he said of his series of overseas appearances.
Despite the fact that Alden’s real surname is Faulkerson, his heritage is undoubtedly Filipino, with his father a Laguna native, and his mother, a Pampanga native.
Alden joined the pre-Independence Day celebrations of Filipino communities on June 6 at the Veterans Park in Los Angeles, California, and on June 7 at the Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival 2015 in Seattle, Washington, where he went for hours for meet and greet sessions.
“It’s such an honor to be with our fellow Filipinos on this occasion and to feel how much they long to be home,” he ended.
