Fans are eagerly awaiting the possibility of the first real life date of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza—aka “AlDub”–Wednesday night at American country singer Bryan White’s Manila concert.
White is the artist behind AlDub’s main theme song on Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye, ”God Gave Me You.” It is precisely because of the world wide-trending “accidental love team” that he decided to come to the Philippines.
White, who arrived in Manila early Saturday, shared a duet with Alden on the latter’s Sunday variety show, Sunday PinaSaya on GMA Network. Shortly after, the top male celebrity prompted the American singer to promote his concert, who in turn said, “I just want to say thank you for your support to ‘God Gave Me You,’ it means a lot to me.”
The song, which White had as a single for his 1999 album “How Lucky I Am”, became an instant hit in the country 16 years after its release when it became the unofficial Aldub theme song.
White also told Aldeb during his concert promotion, “My friend, you and Maine, are invited to watch the show,” to which the all the Pambansang Bae replied, “Thank you.”
In a separate interview on the network, Alden neither confirmed nor denied if he and Maine were going to the concert.
“Right now, we would just like to wish Mr. Bryan White a good luck on the concert.”
White has charted seventeen singles on the Billboard country charts, four of which reached the top spot: Someone Else’s Star in 1995, Rebecca Lynn, and So Much for Pretending in 1996, and Sittin’ on Go in 1997. He has also collaborated with country music star Shania Twain for the 1997 hit-song From This Moment On.
