Several episodes after piquing audiences’ curiosity about “Jake”—the mysterious classmate of Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza who’s getting Alden Richards jealous—the beginnings of a love triangle in Eat Bulaga’s “Kalyeserye” finally took place on Saturday, revealing the face behind the frequent phone calls.

    Enter Jake Ejercito.

Yes, TV’s newcomer is none other than former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada’s son by Laarni Enriquez. Juan Emilio is no stranger to the spotlight having once been labeled as Manila’s “It Boy” for his good looks, charm and pedigree. Jake has a degree in Politics from Queen Mary University, London, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Singapore.

He has also been involved in showbiz controversies, mostly for his on again, off again relationship with actress Andi Eigenmann.

Fans of the phenomenal love team were more than willing to welcome Ejercito on the show, and couldn’t help but go on social media to express just how handsome Erap’s is.

Surprised by the public’s response, Ejercito went online immediately after the show and and posted, “Just wow. Overwhelmed beyond words. Massive thanks to everyone behind Eat Bulaga! Maraming salamat, dabarkads and aldubnation!” The photo has since garnered more than 31,000 likes.

He then followed it up with an off-cam photo with Mendoza, saying, “Till next time, klasmeyt!” The post hit 39,000 likes and more over 2,000 comments with requests for Ejercito to come out on the show again.

Exciting as this turn of events may be, fans should know at the onset that Yaya Dub’s classmate would not be too much of a regular on “Kalyeserye.” The 25-year-old Ejercito in fact flew out to Singapore Monday to resume his Master’s, and gave a straight-forward “no” when asked on ask.fm account if he would be on TV again very soon.

According to a source of The Manila Times, he will make the effort to appear at least every weekend on Eat Bulaga, given the proximity of Singapore to Manila. It will be remembered that when Ejercito first made showbiz headlines, there were talks that he is the son being groomed to replace Estrada as mayor of Manila when his three terms are done.
