Renato Alejandria scored 56 modified Stableford points to clinch the BMW Golf Cup International–Philippine National Finals Class A championship last November 6 at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna.
Alejandria converted an 81 gross to 56 Stableford points as he edged out Wilson Guado by two, 54. Rupert Paul Manhit finished third with 51 points.
In category B, Arnel Racadio carded 59 followed by first runner-up Bonan Mendoza (53) and second runner-up Erich Lingad (53).
Claire Ong, meanwhile, sizzled with 52 points to claim the ladies championship trophy while Marianne Bustos and Blanquita Lacson finished second and third with 50 and 48, respectively.
Arnel Paras finished with a one-under 71 via countback to win the title in the guest division.
Finishing second and third, respectively, were Ceferino De Leon (71) and Indren Naidoo (72) in the competition that employed a System 36 format.
Champion of each category will represent the Philippines in the BMW Golf Cup World Finals to be held from March 5 to 17 in South Africa next year.
The participating players were BMW car buyers from November 2016 up to October 2017.
The Tournament was played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews as well as the local rules of the playing venues.
