The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday said all 12 newly elected senators have complied with requirements regarding their Statement of Contributions and Expenses (SOCEs).
“As early as Friday, all winning senators were already able to comply,” the head of Comelec’s Campaign Finance Unit Commissioner Christian Lim said.
Lim said the commission has already issued the Certificates of Compliance to the senators.
Lim had earlier revealed that nine of the winning senators did not file the necessary copies of receipts they issued to their contributors.
They are Sonny Angara, Francis Escudero, JV Ejercito Estrada, Gringo Honasan 2nd, Loren Legarda, Koko Pimentel 3rd, Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Antonio Trillanes 4th, and Cynthia Villar.
Nancy Binay, Honasan, Legarda, and Poe had incomplete copies of receipts of expenditures.
Bam Aquino, Pimentel, Poe, and Villar also didn’t sign their sworn SOCEs including.
Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano’s SOCE was in compliance but his political party, the Nacionalista Party’s SOCE was incomplete.
The Comelec reiterated that SOCEs must follow a particular format with complete attachment of receipts of contributions and expenses.
Lim said the 38 winning party-list groups are still under evaluation on the compliance of their SOCE requirements.
“As of last Friday, 17 of the 38 winning groups have fully complied already. But there may be some that were able to comply when they submitted last Saturday,” he said.
