This early, My Little Bossings—starring box-office superstars Vic Sotto and Kris Aquino and the cute tandem of Ryzza Mae Dizon and James “Bimby” Aquino Yap—has been generating the most buzz from among the entries to December’s upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
While many are already predicting that this will be the easiest box-office runaway winner this holiday season, the producers behind the movie—OctoArts Films, M-Zet Films, APT Entertainment and Kris Aquino Productions—are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the film will be a top quality movie that is heartwarming and rich in life lessons for both young and old. Above all, the film aims entertain, especially at this very trying time for the Filipino.
The producers are thrilled that child actors Ryzza Mae and Bimby struck an extraordinary chemistry the moment they started working together. Director Marlon Rivera saw this right off the bat and the rest of the cast, staff and crew who are working with the pair attest to this unlikely rapport between the very “masa” Ryzza Mae and the very “sosyal” Bimby.
“Ryzza does not speak much English while Bimby does not speak much Filipino. Sobrang cute nila lalo na kapag nag-uusap na silang dalawa. Sa bandang huli, Ryzza ends up teaching Bimby Filipino words while Bimby teaches Ryzza English words,” producer Boss Orly Ilacad of OctoArts Films relates with much amusement.
Boss Orly says it is the reported chemistry between the young celebrities that has been exciting the viewers. “This is perhaps the reason why there is much excitement about the movie this early. We’re very happy with the public’s curiosity for the two child superstars,” he elaborates.
Vic Sotto, for his part, is very happy with the way the movie is turning out to be. “Nakakatuwa talaga yung dalawang bata. They complement each other so well. You can see that when you watch the movie. Nagtuturuan, nagtatawanan, sabay napapagod, sabay nagugutom. Masaya lang kami sa set. Para lang kaming laging naglalaro,” he shares.
Kris Aquino, as expected, lends utmost support for her son’s first movie outing. She is very hands-on as a producer. She also makes sure that Bimby gets everything he needs during the shoot. In fact, she specifically hired a personal stylist and make-up artist for her son by ex-husband James Yap. And true enough Bimby looks dapper, handsome and cute in his rich boy role in the film’s initial teasers.
My Little Bossings also stars Aiza Seguerra, Jaclyn Jose, Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros, Barbie Forteza, Neil Coleta, and Neil Sese. Marlon Rivera directs from a story and screenplay by Bibeth Orteza.
My Little Bossings opens on Christmas Day, and produced by OctoArts Films, M-Zet Films, APT Entertainment and Kris Aquino Productions.
