All-new Toyota Fortuner bows in

D1---Fortuner-3-0120160119The much-awaited all-new Toyota Fortuner has finally bowed in! Toyota Motors Philippines gave an exclusive preview of the second-generation Fortuner on Thursday last week at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay City.

First introduced in 2005, the Fortuner has earned admiration for its impressive quality, durability, reliability and all-terrain capability. The iconic name originates from the word “fortunate,” specifically chosen to symbolize a new type of model designed for customers who long to own a prestigious sport utility vehicle (SUV). Moreover, the name also evokes a strong and active persona.

With the latest model-change, Toyota has created a more distinctive, sleek and powerful design while improving its performance. The concept is best described by the all-new Fortuner’s executive chief engineer, Hiroki Nakajima: “Our concept was to build a true SUV that has style and confidence. The all-new Fortuner is the outcome of our continuous efforts to redefine toughness.”

Tough and cool design
Now longer and wider, the 2016 Fortuner looks smarter and bolder from every angle. The sophisticated front design is every inch a standout for both urban and outdoor zones. This is seen in its slender, thicker and larger front fascia. Its side view is equally tough as expressed through a streamlined profile. The G grade comes in sporty 17-inch alloy wheels while the V grade comes with a stylish set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the all-new Fortuner has a bolder and more elegant interior. Tee V grade comes in hues of dark brown, black and wood trim details while the G grade boasts colors of chamois, black and dark wood trim details. It also comes with a capacitive touchscreen audio with navigation and a Multi-Information Display for both the G and the V grades.

Drive inspiring adventure
Powering the 2016 Fortuner is the new GD series engine. Its engine’s performance is maximized in the newly-developed six-speed transmission. This allows the all-new Fortuner to balance powerful performance with fuel efficiency. Besides performance, the SUV’s new engine is considerably more discreet in practical usage conditions – vibrations and road noise are well suppressed even on rough terrain. Moreover, its handling and ride comfort have been improved for all road conditions.

The driving experience has been brought to even greater heights with new, convenient and modern driving options. The all-new Fortuner comes with Drive Mode Select available in both the G and V grades allow the SUV to easily switch from more fuel efficient drives to more powerful rides.

For passenger safety, the all-new Fortuner (4×4 V only) is completely equipped with front, driver knee, side and curtain shield airbags. Moreover, vehicle operation is simplified with the adoption of the Push Start System and Smart Keyless Entry that allows for easier entry to the vehicle. The doors can be locked/unlocked and the engine can be started/stopped simply by key control.

The all-new Fortuner is available in five variants with prices ranging from P1.386 million for the base model and up to P2.141 million for the high-end model.

Colors available include Super White, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Gray Metallic, White Pearl (additional P15,000) and new colors Phantom Brown Metallic and Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic.
