• All set for Copa America Centenario

MIAMI: The Rose Bowl, site of the 1994 World Cup finals, was among 10 United States venues named on Thursday to host matches in next year’s Copa America Centenario tournament. In addition to the stadium that seats 92,542 in suburban Los Angeles, venues in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando, Phoenix and Seattle were chosen to host matches in the June 3-26 event by the South American Football Federation (CONMEBOL) and the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF). The historic 100th anniversary event marks the first time the Copa America has been staged outside South America, with its 10 nations joining six from North America in an intercontinental showdown.
