ILOILO CITY: Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has announced the installation of the first four out of 16 planned traffic lights equipped with closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) for the city’s busy intersections. A private donor will fund the installation of a traffic light at the corner of Infante and Gen. Luna streets as an experimental project. Also to be installed is an electronic billboard, Mabilog added. Mabilog said the installation of city-funded four traffic lights will possibly be at the downtown area, along Gen. Luna St., at the capitol area and at Iznart Delgado area. Funds for the P15 million project would be realigned from a fountain project at Plaza Libertad. The city mayor said the project is just one of many in line for resolving traffic congestion.
