STATE-RUN Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corp. has a new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) — Lourdes Alzona.
Alzona, who was appointed board member by President Benigno Aquino 3rd, acted as officer-in-charge when PSALM president and CEO Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. was suspended.
Alzona will serve Ledesma’s unexpired term of office that will end on 30 June 2016.
Alzona is the sixth chief executive of PSALM and the second woman to assume the position.
A certified public accountant and a Business Administration graduate from the Philippine Women’s University, she has been in public service for 33 years.
Prior to joining PSALM, Alzona was with the National Power Corporation (NPC) for more than 20 years.
