American ‘pedophile’ falls in Clark

A convicted American pedophile long wanted by the US federal authorities for sexual offenses was arrested in Angeles City, Pampanga after hiding in the country for more than two years. The Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) on Thursday identified the American as Donald Steward Hammond, 77, billeted in a hotel in Clark Air Base. BI-FSU chief and lawyer Jose Carlitos Licas said the US Embassy provided no other details about Hammond’s cases but a Florida-based website on pedophiles showed that he was convicted on 15 counts of sexual offenses, which stemmed from his being caught in possession of pictures “showing sexual performance by a child.” Hammond was said to have been hiding in the country since April 26, 2014, arriving as tourist.
