GMA Network, which airs top-rating daily noontime show Eat Bulaga, informed The Manila Times that American singer, rapper, songwriter, DJ and record producer Dawin has acknowledged the AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza) team up for using his song “Dessert” in the worldwide trending hit, “Kalyeserye.”
“Dessert (Whatcha Gon Do With That)” is Lola Nidora’s (Wally Bayola) favorite daily “get down” dance music, which Maine even played the drums to in a special production number on the October 10 episode of Eat Bulaga.
Catching the artist’s tweet, the network quoted @Official Dawin’s post: “Aldub Nation I would love to watch @EatBulaga I’m glad you like my song Dessert ???? #ALDUBMissingYou.”
In September, American country music artist Bryan White who sings AlDub’s chosen theme song “God Gave Me You,” was first to acknowledge the team up for making his hit even more popular through their show, thereafter announcing a Manila concert date on December 1 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Until recently, the majority of Alden and Yaya Dub’s exchanges on “Kalyeserye” have been through lip-syncing—or “dubsmashing”—love songs, besides scribbles on pieces of paper, also known as fan-signing. In the past few weeks, though, Yaya Dub has begun to reveal more and more of her voice in snippets of songs and comments, sending fans into frenzy each time.
