“Lahat ng artista gustong gumanap bilang isang superhero. Sino ako para tumanggi?” was the excited opening of Ejay Falcon at the press conference of ABS-CBN’s Wansapanataym and its new season, dubbed “I Heart Kuryente Kid.”
Premiering tonight, the actor shares lead billing with Alex Gonzaga who plays a TV reporter, chasing after the story of the mysterious superhero.
Ejay, a former Pinoy Big Brother grand winner, has mostly been cast in daring roles, and is happy to be able to star in a fantasy for children. He portrays an accidental superhero in the mini-series after he is struck by lightning, and finds he is able to create electricity with his bare hands.
Alex, whose last project for TV was also a fantasy in Inday Bote, is excited for the premiere of I Heart Kid Kuryente, which will mark her return to prime time, albeit on a weekly basis for now.
“Medyo na busy din po ako sa kasal ni Ate [Toni Gonzaga] after Inday Bote, and nung June lang din namin nasimulan itong Kuryente Kid,” she said.
Always happy to perform for a younger audience, Alex is grateful to be given the chance to star in a season of ABS-CBN’s long-running fantasy series.
“TV viewers will surely enjoy watching our ‘Wansapanataym’ special because of the story,” she continued. “Alam naman po nating lahat na institusyon na ang Wansapanataym.”
Joining Alex and Ejay in Wansapanataym Presents I Heart Kuryente Kid are Miguel Vergara, Malou Crisologo, Fourth Solomon, and Tirso Cruz 3rd. It is written by Philip King, and directed by Andoy Ranay.
Wansapanataym airs tonight after Goin Bulilit.
