• Ang still keen on acquiring Solar television

Tycoon Ramon Ang is still patiently waiting for the discussions to acquire Solar Entertainment Corp. to be completed, indicating that his interest to buy out the network is still on the table.

“Magandang assets ’yung mga iyon. Kaibigan natin yung may-ari nun eh. Nung nag-uusap, mukhang ok na [Solar TV has good assets. Its owners are my friends. During the last discussion, it seems the deal is already okay],” Ang said.

“Kaibigan natin kaya hindi natin inaapura pero kung gusto natin talaga, eh napakadali nating maisasara ’yun. [The owners are my friends so I’m not in a rush but if we really want it, we can close the deal very easily],” he added.

Ang said earlier that his discussion with the owners of Solar TV is nearing its conclusion.

In October last year, the business mogul confirmed that he is in talks with the owners of Solar TV to acquire a controlling stake in the network firm.

Ang clarified that this acquisition plan is for his interest and has nothing to do with the company he currently leads, San Miguel Corp. and Philippine Airlines.

The business tycoon currently owns Manila Diamond Hotel and cement firms Far East Cement and Eagle Cement, both under his own capacity.

He also serves as president of listed Cyberbay Corp.

Solar Entertainment, owned by the Tieng family, also owns 34 percent of Radio Philippines Network Inc.
