CELEBRITY and Audi Phils. brand ambassador Anne Curtis recently presented the all-new, third-generation Audi A3 in an exclusive event at Audi’s showroom (which was turned into a “Club Auditorium”) in Bonifacio Global City.
The A3 range won 2014 World Car of the Year honors, which was handed out by the World Car Awards—a program initiated, organized and conducted by automotive journalists from all over the world. In choosing the A3 as the World Car of the Year, 69 top-level automotive journalists from 22 countries examined an initial 24 cars, trimmed the field to 12, then finalized the list to three.
In a statement, World Car Awards jurors said; “The Audi A3 might borrow styling hints from its bigger brothers but it still offers classic, chiseled contours and even better interior trim levels. With a superb choice of engines and four body styles, the A3 range packs a hefty premium punch in the small luxury segment.”
Audi Phils. head Benedicto Coyiuto, who jointly unveiled the A3 with Curtis, expressed pride at being able to bring the Audi sedan to Manila.
“This is a car that changes everything. The A3 has an efficient turbo-charged engine, a luxurious interior and a beautiful look that all helped it earn the World Car of the Year title,” he said.
Coyiuto added that Audi has always been known for reliable, frugal vehicles that push the performance envelope, and that the new A3 “delivers a consummate blend of sporty handling qualities, dynamic acceleration, low emissions while being a miserly consumer of fuel.”
“We firmly believe this sedan redefines standards in its class.”
