A 34-YEAR-OLD tattoo artist, said to be involved in the illegal drug trade in his neighborhood, was shot dead before the horrified eyes of school children on Monday in Pasay City (Metro Manila).
Killed was Ronald Luceña of Manlunas Street, Villamor Air Base. He died instantly after being shot in the head.
Police said the victim was shot by a gunman wearing a face mask, jersey short pants and a hooded jacket. He escaped on a motorcycle driven by a cohort.
A police report said the incident took place at 8:10 a.m. in front of the Villamor Air Base Elementary School along Piccio Garden, Barangay 186.
Police said Luceña was on his motorcycle which was parked in front of the gate of the school when the gunman shot him at close range.
Prior to the incident, Luceña and his live-in partner took their five-year old-daughter to school, police said.
Records indicated that the victim was included in the police watch list as one of the “drug personalities” in his neighborhood.
Luceña is the second suspected drug personality who was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding men.
On Sunday, Ritchie Atizado was killed while getting water just meters away from his house in San Juan St., Barangay 8.
Police said Atizado, said to be a known drug peddler, had been in and out of jail for robbery charges.
Records from the Southern Police District disclosed that a total of 3,003 drug suspects surrendered to authorities from July 1 to 10, with Pasay having the most number — 826 confessed users and 89 pushers.
