BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: In compliance with the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, the provincial government has established anti-red tape desks in its move to prevent graft and corruption and to improve efficiency in the delivery of government service. Gene Basilio, provincial Public Affairs and Information Assistance Division (PAIAD) officer, said the Public Assistance and Complaints Desk setup in different provincial offices will have brochures or leaflets from each department for clienteles’ proper guidance “so that collusion with fixers be avoided.” The PAIAD under the office of the Provincial Governor explained that red tape is excessive regulation or rigid conformity to formal rules that is considered redundant or bureaucratic and sometimes hinders or prevents action or decision-making and many times prone to graft and corruption.
