BAGUIO CITY: The landlocked province of Apayao was allocated P500 million by the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for infrastructure projects. Apayao Gov. Elias Bulut Jr. said the amount is for construction of seven bridges that will connect the 11 municipalities of the province. This will spur development, economic growth, increase tourism and alleviate poverty, Bulut said as he expressed the people’s gratitude to the national government for the support. Earlier this month, the P60-million Paco Bridge, which connects the towns of Kabugao and Pudtol, was inaugurated. This shortens travel time from Tabuk, Kalinga, to Luna, Apayao, without passing through Cagayan Valley.
