TABUK CITY: The mayor of Luna, Apayao province, and her bodyguard were killed in a vehicular accident in Barangay Pasalen, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte early Saturday morning.
According to Supt. Jeffrey Gorospe, Ilocos Norte Police spokesman, Mayor Betty Bersola and her companions were on their way home to Kalinga, Apayao province when their vehicle crashed into a tree after their driver swerved to avoid hitting a crossing carabao.
