President Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed two new commissioners of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), Malacanang announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said Aquino signed on September 11 the appointment papers of Grace Venus and Bernardino Julve, both lawyers.
Presiding Commissioner Venus replaced Herminio Suelo while Commissioner Julve replaced Angelo Palaña.
Prior to her appointment, Venus was a Labor Arbiter/Officer-in-Charge Director for Administration and Finance of the NLRC. She also served as Adjudicator/Legal Counsel of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) from 2003 to 2010.
Venus finished her Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College of Law.
Julve earned his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, major in History, degree from the University of San Carlos in Cebu and finished his Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines.
Before his appointment, he served as labor attachè at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with assignment at the Office of the POEA Administration as well as in Vancouver, Canada, from 2008 to 2014.
He worked as Officer-in-Charge, Legal Service and Special Assistant to the Secretary for Overseas Operation, DOLE, from 2007 to 2008.
