Aquino cancels official engagements


PRESIDENT Beningo Aquino 3rd on Tuesday cancelled all his official engagements, a Malacañang official said on Tuesday.

“According to the Private Office, the President’s engagements today will be rescheduled,” Palace deputy spokesman Abigail Valte said in a text message.

“Were told baha sa compound so better not to brave it, [We were told that the compound is flooded so better not brave it,]” the Palace official added

The President is expected to receive the credentials of His Excellency Ahmed Kamal Hasan Al-Kamaly, Ambassador designate of Iraq, and His Excellency Odelia Gregorio Arroyo, Ambassador designate of the Soveriegn Military Order of Malta.

In the afternoon, the President is supposed to attend an exhibit honoring his father, former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., at the Cinema Lobby of Trinoma in Quezon City.

Mr. Aquino was also scheduled to have a meeting with the Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., the heads of the Department of Budget and Management, Department of Finance, Department of Trade and Industry,  Governance for Commission for GOCCs , and President Management Staff.
