This after President Aquino 3rd has signed new laws creating new metropolitan trial court (MTC) branches in Makati City and the regional courts nationwide.

Under Republic Act No. 10537, signed by Aquino on May 15 and was published in two newspapers on Sunday, the law created six new MTC branches in Makati.

The said act shall become a law 15 days thereafter its publication.

According to Supreme Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez, the high court will assign judges and employees of the new court branches. The Court and the Department of Justice (DOJ) were also directed to include the changes in the court’s program.

“The funds necessary for the operation of the courts herein created shall be appropriated and released only upon the actual organization of the courts and the appointment of its personnel,” stated the new law.

Recently, the chief executive has also signed laws creating 71 new court branches in Metro Manila and various regions.
