As expected, President Benigno Aquino 3rd formally endorsed Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas 2nd as his bet for the 2016 presidential elections.
Aquino, who chairs the ruling Liberal party (LP), made the announcement at Club Filipino in San Juan, the same venue where the chief executive’s bid for the presidency was declared in 2009.
“Bakit tayo magpapaakit sa iba, kung meron tayong sigurado na… siguradong magtutuloy ng daang matuwid. Sa aking paniniwala ang taong ito ay walang iba kundi si Mar Roxas,” Aquino said in his speech.
In 2009, Roxas, then set to be the LP’s standard-bearer for the 2010 presidential polls, stepped aside at the last minute for Aquino, whose popularity surged after the death of his mother, former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
Roxas was Aquino’s running mate in 2010 but he lost to then Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay in the vice presidential race. Catherine Valente

  1. Ikabod Bubwit on

The endorsement of President PeNoy AbNoy is a sentence of death to ones political life !!!

  2. Not cool..waste of money, time and effort endorsing Mar, Binay will eat him alive in the voting contest. He was chosen by the d*ck headed President because he was a good friend of him.

  3. This is a rematch. Binay vs Roxas
With accusations on both gentlemen in the open, we are left without choice.
We go for the lesser evil. Unless another candidates step into the fray, then
we get more options like Duterte, Bong2 Marcos or even Grace Llamanzares.
