Aquino meets with Cudia, but postpones decision

Embattled Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet Aldrin Jeff Cudia, together with his family, on Saturday afternoon met with President Benigno Aquino 3rd.

A Malacanang official told reporters that the President left Manila on Saturday morning to hold talks with Cudia.

According to him, the President met with Cudia, his father, mother and sister from 4:20 pm to 6:45 pm at The Mansion House here in Baguio City.

However, he noted that Aquino has yet to issue the decision to reverse Cudia’s dismissal.

For this reason, Cudia will not be able to join the graduating class on Sunday.

Cudia was earlier recommended by the PMA’s Honor Committee to be dismissed from the premier military institution because of lying, which is a major offense under its Honor Code.

He was charged with lying after he turned up two minutes late in class supposedly because he and other mistahs were dismissed late in another class.

Meanwhile, Vice President Jejomar Binay will attend  the commencement exercises of  the PMA Siklab-Diwa Class of 2014 on Sunday at Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar in Baguio City.

Binay will confer the   Vice Presidential Saber on the class salutatorian.
