Malacañang on Tuesday said that President Benigno Aquino 3rd will not give up the President’s Social Fund (PSF), the presidential equivalent of lawmakers’ ‘pork barrel’.
The Makabayan bloc in the House of Representatives challenged President Aquino to get rid of pork barrel in the 2014 national budget.
But Palace deputy spokesman Abigail Valte said that the President has been transparent in fund disbursement.
“As far as the President is concerned, the use of the PSF undergoes a very strict process,” she said.
The Palace official explained that the PSF is mainly used to assist the families left behind by soldiers killed in the line of duty.
“ I understand that also undergoes audit,” Valte said.
