President Benigno Aquino 3rd on Thursday sent two Cabinet
officials to Malaysia where the government and the Moro
Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) peace panels are hammering out the annex on
wealth-sharing of the framework agreement.

in this round of talks.
In a text message, Palace deputy spokesman Abigail Valte confirmed
that Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles and
Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda flew to Malaysia on Thursday .
Valte said the presence of both Cabinet officials was meant to show the
Aquino government’s commitment to the peace process.
She added that Deles and Lacierda also met with the negotiators, the facilitator, the International Contact Group, and the newly constituted Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT).
The Philippine government and the MILF resumed formal talks in
Malaysia on Monday to continue discussions on the three remaining
annexes of the framework agreement on the Bangsamoro homeland.
The Palace official reassured that both panels “will be working
sincerely on everything that needs to be addressed.”
