ILOILO CITY: Senate President Franklin Drilon has assured that before the year ends, President Benigno Aquino 3rd will approve and sign into a law increasing by P2,000 the Social Security Service (SSS) pensioners’ monthly annuity. In a radio interview here, Drilon said the enrolled copy of the law is being finalized for submission to the President. Drilon also said there will be additional premiums starting next year so the SSS funds could continue give out the additional pension. The current SSS funds, he said, will be good only for the next 13 years that there is a need to source additional funds to cover up the shortage. He added, however, that the government is looking for other sources of funds for the SSS.
