Aquino visits quake-hit Bohol again

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL: More than a week after the quake, President Benigno Aquino 3rd will be returning here today to personally check the relief efforts on the ground.

Mr. Aquino is expected to arrive in Tagbilaran City airport at around 3:30 this afternoon.

He will then proceed to the town of Loon where he is set to visit the Loon South Central School evacuation center, the Our Lady of Light Parish, and the town’s public market.

The President will be briefed by the local officials on the current situation on the ground.

The scheduled visit came after it was reported that some victims complain of too little aid despite the government’s pronouncement of having enough supplies for the affected residents.

Presidential Communications Secretary Coloma earlier said that they have coordinated with local officials and that the national governmentt leaders are there “to make sure that government assistance, private assistance is channeled in the most efficient way and the welfare of our people is not jeopardized further.”

On Monday, President Aquino said that there are enough savings to sustain the relief operations.

He gave reassurance that “there is no communty that is not being taken care of.” CATHERINE VALENTE
