Still unidentified gunmen snatched at gunpoint a school principal in Barangay Mompol, Sumisip town, Basilan Monday morning.

Basilan School Division superintendent, Dr. Norhaya Abdurahim, identified the victim as Benita Latonia, Manggal Elementary School principal.

She is a resident of Barangay (village) Talisayan, Zamboanga City.

Witnesses said the victim was aboard a passenger jeepney along with other teachers when armed men stopped their vehicle and snatched Latonia at gunpoint

The incident took place around 7 a.m..
