GOVERNMENT agencies in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) on Saturday conducted relief operations for more than 800 flood-affected families in Maguindanao province. A total of 826 families in the towns of Datu Saudi Ampatuan and Datu Abdullah Sangki were received canned goods and bags containing rice from the regional social welfare office Maguindanao. They also received mosquito nets, hydrosols and assorted medicine from the regional health department. Heavy rains displaced 609 families in Sangki and 217 in Ampatuan towns recently. Barangay Kaya-kaya Chairman Eddris Sangki, one of the most affected barangays in Sangki town, said his constituents are hoping that the ARMM sustain its relief operation for their village particularly during calamities.
