ARMM economic roadmap to include Federalism

Cotabato City: The Regional Board of Investments of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RBOI-ARMM) has called for a study on how federalism can improve the policy on environment for business and economic development using the ARMM experience of autonomy as reference. Ishak Mastura, RBOI-ARMM chairman, said a forum entitled “Forum on Business Experience of Autonomy vis-à-vis Federalism: The Case of the ARMM” will be a part of the 100 days of ARMM Regional Gov. Mujiv Hataman. He said a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) study in 2003 stating that “the ARMM can sell itself as a good laboratory case for a possible shift towards federalism should efforts to change the Constitution push through.” The ARMM experience of autonomy supposedly benefited for business after the signing of the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro in 2012 and the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in 2013.
