MARAWI CITY: Some 4,000 farmers from Lanao Del Sur on Thursday attended a forum held in this city to help improve government support to agriculture in the province. The forum was organized by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DAF-ARMM) and the Anak Mindanao Partylist. DAF-ARMM also distributed P10.7 million worth of farm inputs and equipment to the farmers under the government’s Agrikulturang Pilipino (Agri-Pinoy) program. Agri-Pinoy is the overall strategic framework for the agricultural services and programs of the national government for 2011-2016. The four guiding principles of Agri-Pinoy are sustainable agriculture, food security and self-sufficiency, broad-based local partnerships, and support services form farm to table.
