• ARMM urges candidates to uphold peace pact

COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao: Voters in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) urged regional officials and candidates running for various positions to abide by the peace covenant they signed for honest and peaceful May 9 elections. ARMM incumbent Gov. Mujiv Hataman, seeking reelection is being challenged by Sulu Vice Gov. Abdusakur Tan. Ma. Amelia Rowena Guanzon, commissioner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and head of the agency’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS) executive committee, said the signing of the covenant in effect has sealed the commitment of the candidates for peaceful elections.
