Army BATTALION completes program


CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao: The retraining of 57th Infantry Battalion (57IB) under the Battalion of Excellence (BOE) Training Program of the Philippine Army culminated recently at the 6th Infantry Division (6ID) Battalion Retraining Facility in Camp Lucero, Carmen, North Cotabato. Capt. Joann Petinglay, 6ID spokesperson said the training started last October 1 that involved intelligence operations training, mortar gunnery, live fire on mortar and crew-served weapons, and rifle marksmanship training. It dealt with the proper utilization and maintenance of communications, electronics and information (CEIS) equipment, physical fitness test, squad and platoon run, and field training exercises. Major General Pangilinan, 6ID commanding general urged the soldiers not be contended with mediocre output but “work for excellent yield and make sure we win first before we go to war rather than we go to battle and seek to win”.
