A PHILIPPINE Army officer who was buying a chocolate drink for his sick child was shot dead by an unidentified man in Pagadian City Monday night. Lt. Col. Audie Mongao, public affairs officer of the Army’s 1st Infantry Division identified the victim as Maj. Ibno Kalid Hassan, 56, assigned at the Service Support Battalion of the Ist ID based in Upper Pulakas, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. The attack occurred at the time there was a power outage in the village. Hassan was shot four times by the lone gunman who fled on foot. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the killing, but initial police investigation said the murder may be connected to a clan war or family feud.
