Combined efforts of the military and the police resulted to the capture of top-ranking New People’s Army (NPA) leader operating in Albay province, a Philippine Army official said on Thursday. Col. Raul Farnacio, commanding officer of the Army’s 901st Infantry Brigade in Daraga town in Albay province, reported that NPA leader Bienvenido Paladin alias “Ka Buddy Silva,” “Ka Ronald” and “Ka Ted” was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in his hideout in Barangay Buang in Tabaco City. Farnacio said Paladin is a member of the NPA Executive Front Committee Larangan 77 operating in Albay. Paladin also has an existing warrant of arrests issued by three local courts for five counts of murder and other heinous crimes.
