Artist Playground is conducting auditions for the two forthcoming productions of award-winning playwright Rody Vera—“Happiness Is A Pearl” and “Fly Me To The Moon.”
The auditions are to be conducted at The Little Room Upstairs, 1701 Landsdale Tower, Mother Ignacia corner Timog Avenue in Quezon City on June 26, Monday at 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Auditionees must prepare a short monologue, a movement piece [with music in a USB flashdrive], and will be asked to read the assigned characters in a script.
For Happiness Is A Pearl, the characters are Mari – female, Japanese-looking, 25 to 35 years old; Kenji – Japanese hosto, toned body, 21 to 30 years old (with or without theater experience); and Maria – Pinay Japayuki, 21 to 30 years old.
For Fly Me To The Moon, the roles are Karayuki – Japanese prostitute, 25 to 30 years old; Herby – okamasan, transgender with fair skin, in her 20s; Captain – an older Japanese-looking guy, in his 30s; and Ibrahim – Middle-Eastern looking, 25 to 35 years old.
