‘Maledections,’ oil on canvas by nestor Ong

A SPECIAL Holy Week exhibit featuring original paintings of the Passion of Christ, as well as scenes and rituals from the Christian tradition of remembering the Savior’s greatest sacrifice for man was unveiled on Saturday at the Galeria de las Islas in Intramuros, Manila.

Some of the well-known artists whose works are included in the ongoing group exhibit, El Dios Muerto En La Cruz (The Dead God on the Cross), include Fernando Zobel, Antonio Doctor Garcia, Mark Shellshear, Ruel Carlos, Crisanto Lodronio, Jonathan Rañola, Edgar Cornito, Ronna Lara Bes, Duds Sagayap, Nestor Ong, Roy Espinosa, Ding Royales, Erwin Pineda, Margaret Fuentes, Anthony Jandusay, Beine Cruz, Daricel Serrano, Dara Solevilla, Elmer Ponce Pacio, Josefina Velasco, Marivel Mari-Galang, Eric Aquino, Antonieta Hernaez, Loriel Castillo, Strobs Hodreal Legaspi, and Jesse Esplana.

On view until April 30, the show presents over 20 works in watercolor, acrylic, and pen and ink. Galeria de las Islas Silahis Center is located at 744 Gen. Luna St., Intramuros, Manila. Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily including Sundays and Holidays.

The exhibit will be open during Holy Week except for Good Friday.
