INDUSTRY experts will gather in Parañaque City, Metro Manila on October 22 to discuss the impact of the Asean integration on the local property market in the upcoming 4th Asia Pacific Real Estate Investment Summit (APREIS).
The summit, which will be held at the Solaire Resort and Casino, will bring together an estimated 300 professionals from leading property developers, funds and asset managers, and investors to be able to interact and share their views on various issues affecting the industry—with the goal of promoting and strengthening the Philippine real estate sector.
Topics such as the real estate market’s outlook for 2016 and the government’s public-private partnership projects will also be discussed during the event.
Various industry leaders are expected to speak during the summit such as Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo, who will discuss the upcoming Asean integration and its impact on the local real estate sector; and CBRE chairman Rick Santos, who will share his 2016 outlook for the Philippine real estate industry.
Similarly, a discussion on private capital financing for large-scale real estate projects will be given by Macquarie Capital’s Michael Chan while executive director of Philippine Public–Private Partnership Center Cosette Canilao will discuss the transformation of Philippine infrastructure through the successful delivery of PPP projects.
Aside from these individual talks, a series of panel discussions will also take place during the summit.
Lamudi Philippines managing director Jacqueline van den Ende will lead a discussion on the emerging trends in Philippine real estate, with panelists such as Al Legaspi of Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts, Henry Co of First Philippine Industrial Park, Joseph Ramil Lombos of DMCI Homes, Lars Wittig of Regus Philippines, Michael McCullough of KMC MAG Group, and Lourdes Alano of Robinsons Land.
Meanwhile, Atty. Francisco Ed. Lim, a senior partner at ACCRA Law, will also lead a discussion on Philippine REITs, with panelists such as Commissioner Ephyro Luis Amatong of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Atty. Roel Refran of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Angelo Scasserra of Credit Suisse, Jaime Ysmael of Ayala Land, Peter Verwer of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association, and Simon Clark of KPMG.
Noted architect and urban planner Felino Palafox Jr., meanwhile, will lead a discussion on Philippine township developments with fellow architect Joselito Luna of Ayala Land, Ma. Socorro Aragon-Gobio of Robinsons Land, and Sigrid Zialcita of Cushman & Wakefield.
Finally, Michael de Guzman, managing director Macquarie Capital Securities, will lead a discussion on challenges and lessons learned from the government’s PPP experiences. The panel will include Eleazar Ricote of the Philippine PPP Center, John Francia of AC Infrastructure Holdings, and Karim Garcia of Metro Pacific Investments.
