A businesswoman from Zamboanga City, who was kidnapped in August by the Abu Sayyaf, was released in Talipao, Sulu just a day before the Christmas celebrations, police reports said Thursday. Kidnap victim Michelle Panes was freed at about 9 a.m. in Barangay Vic Bilaan, Talipao, Sulu. A resident found her and immediately brought her to the military camp where she was given custodial debriefing. Panes, 36, was seized by the bandits who pretended to raid the store that she and her husband run in Barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City. Her husband managed to fight off the kidnappers and flee.
