• ASG member in Lamitan siege nabbed


    ANOTHER member of the Al Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) involved in the Lamitan siege was arrested on Wednesday morning by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Zamboanga City. CIDG Spokesperson Chief Insp. Elizabeth Jasmin, quoting reports from the field, identified the arrested ASG member as Adam Mahamdom alias Adam Muhadam and alias Junior. Mahamdom was nabbed on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Isabela City, Basilan for his alleged involvement in the Lamitan Siege and Tairan kidnapping, both in 2001. The suspect is included in the list of order by the Department of National Defense (DND) with P600,000 reward for his arrest.
