Ateneo de Manila University defeated College of Saint Benilde,2-0, in the elimination round of the 14th season of Ang Liga at their home turf in Quezon City on Monday evening.
The victory improved Ateneo’s record to two wins, a draw and two losses in the top division of the premier pre-season collegiate football tournament.
On the other hand, it was Saint Benilde’s first loss after notching two victories and two draws.

Meanwhile, University Athletic Association of the Philippines defending champion University of the Philippines is still No.1 in the first division despite absorbing its initial loss from University of Santo Tomas over the weekend.
The Fighting Maroons hold a record of five wins a draw and a loss.
Consequently, San Beda College, UST, and National University are tied in the second, third and fourth spots with 10 points each.
The reserve team of San Beda currently rules the second tier of Ang Liga with six wins and a loss while Far Eastern University Team B follows with an unblemished slate of five victories.
