• Ateneo de Zamboanga executive gunned down

Motorcycle gunmen shot and wounded an employee of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, police said Friday.

Maria Victoria C. Montaño, assistant to Ateneo president Fr Karel San Juan, was heading home in Tetuan village when unidentified assailants attacked her Friday evening. The victim was rushed to the hospital shortly after the shooting.

While Ateneo students con-demned the violence, the administration has yet to release their statement about the attack, whose motive is still unknown.

Meanwhile, a lone gunman shot a certain Ruben Barrera in Curuan village the same day. Police have now launched a manhunt to track down the assailant.

Gun attacks are not un-common in Zamboanga where hired killers are actively operat-ing and largely blamed for the spate of shootings and string of murders here.

Where are the columnists who will write and condemn these TWO MURDERS which are very common now a days? Sec. Tiglao and other editors should also write and condemn all kind of MURDERS particularly by RIDING IN TANDEM. How about recommending to Pnoy to make an executive order THAT BANS RIDING IN TANDEM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY FOR FIVE YEARS. This will minimize if not totally eradicate MURDER BY RIDING IN TANDEM.
