‘Atom Araullo is a closet movie star’ – Mike de Leon

Just two days before “Citizen Jake”—the comeback movie of veteran director Mike de Leon—hit theaters for its commercial release nationwide, he took on social media to publicly express his thoughts on his lead actor, broadcast journalist Atom Araullo.

In a lengthy Facebook post on May 21, which has now been deleted, de Leon started off about how he ended up casting Araullo, as he thought it was interesting to work with a real journalist and whom he thought shared his political convictions.
