Audi pitches prowess,heritage of Quattro

AUDI said that it presently offers its quattro permanent all-wheel drive system in all its model series, with 148 Audi variants sporting the technology. According to the carmaker, it has produced more than five million all-wheel drive cars to date, making it the world’s most successful premium manufacturer of cars with permanent all-wheel drive.

“Contrary to popular belief, the advantages of an all-wheel drive system are not limited to off-road driving alone,” said Audi Phils. Sales Director Miguelito Jose. “The Audi quattro’s benefits include extremely rapid distribution of power to the front and rear axles, excellent directional stability, and precise handling qualities.”

First introduced in 1980 in the legendary Audi Ur-quattro rally car, the technology has for decades continued to be used on the brand’s road cars, starting with the first RS model—the RS2 Avant in 1994.

In the Philippines, Audi’s present quattro lineup counts the new RS4, A6, A7 Sportback, Q5 and Q7. The system is also available on the Q3, which, incidentally, is offered at an installment plan of P29,888 a month.
